Volunteer Selection Criteria
To uphold the highest performance quality, Do-Re-Mi carefully evaluates all volunteer applications through a merit-based selection process. Volunteer performers will be selected based on the following criteria.
Musical Proficiency
Performance level is assessed based on the information provided in the application, including musical background and experience. While formal achievements are considered, they are not required. Applicants may demonstrate their ability through any of the following:
Participation in music programs, ensembles, or lessons
Awards or recognition in competitions or evaluations
Completion of music examinations (e.g., ABRSM, Guild, or equivalent)
Personal achievements or experience that reflect strong musical ability
Optional video recordings that showcase performance level
Age and Maturity Consideration
Applicants are considered within appropriate age groups to ensure fair comparison. Volunteers should demonstrate the maturity and stage presence needed to perform respectfully in a senior community setting.
Availability and Commitment
Volunteers are expected to arrive prepared, be punctual, and commit to scheduled performances. Flexibility and interest in participating in future events are appreciated.
Slot Allocation
When there are more applicants than available performance spots, selection will be based on overall readiness and program balance. Applicants not selected for a specific event may be considered for future opportunities.
