On September 19th, 2026, the residents at The Residence at Bala Cynwyd enjoyed another afternoon of music provided by our talented volunteers. Do-Re-Mi volunteers were honored to celebrate National Assisted Living Week with a performance of various composers and instruments.

The performance featured a GuZheng (Chinese zither), cello, violin, and piano with pieces ranging from Bach to Beethoven. We had quite a few new volunteers: Alice, Maddie, Charlotte, Eileen, and Ashlyn. Some of our other volunteers were Ellie, Nathan, Sophie, and Cyndi. A special shout-out to Ashlyn, who introduced us to the GuZheng—what a treat for all to see and hear such a special instrument!

We received many compliments from senior residents after the performance, telling us how musical we sounded. They were also happy to see the families coming together to perform for them and speak with them.

We are very proud of our volunteers—not only for their musical talents, but also for their heartwarming performances that brighten up the residents’ afternoon. Thank you to the facility staff for hosting and welcoming us back. Thank you also to the families for their support, and most of all, to our young musicians for making this National Assisted Living Week extra special.

At DoReMi, our mission is to connect talented young musicians with senior communities through live performances that spread joy and build meaningful connections. We look forward to sharing more music with our community in the future.

Thank you for supporting DoReMi, and we hope to see you at our next performance!
